Honey may be supplemented with indications of botanical and geographical origin in accordance with the German Honey Ordinance or the EU Directive 2001/110/EC. For example, honey can be called German rapeseed honey if the honey comes from this plant.
In order to ensure that this information is true, the typical organoleptic, microscopic and physical-chemical characteristics of honey types are examined within the framework of pollen analysis. Analysis of the pollen spectrum also makes it possible to determine the geographical origin.
Within the scope of the pollen analysis, the Tentamus Laboratory QSI in Bremen evaluates your honey and informs you under which name you may market your honey.
